Byron W. Tietjen  
President

Byron is President of Advanced Recovery and Recycling, LLC, Syracuse, NY, and a Principal Systems Engineer for Helios Remote Sensing Systems in Rome, NY.  He received a BSEE-Biosystems and MSEE degree from Syracuse University.  He is a retired Chief Scientist and Senior Fellow from Lockheed Martin with a career spanning more than 40 years entirely in the engineering and scientific field, with specific emphasis on Department of Defense projects with General Electric and Lockheed Martin.  Most of this work involved the specification, design, fabrication, analysis, and testing of advanced sonar and radar systems for the military.  He became well versed in acoustic-optical sensor design, signal processing, data processing, and systems analysis, and currently holds about 40 patents with more pending.   He spent many years in Systems Engineering, which involved developing/deriving system and lower level specifications. With over 20 years of management and project leadership experience, Mr. Tietjen continues to demonstrate his qualifications as an effective leader.

Peter H. Stockmann, Ph.D., Esq.
Vice President

Dr. Stockmann is Vice-President of Advanced Recovery and Recycling, LLC, Syracuse, NY, and a Principal Systems Engineer for Helios Remote Sensing Systems in Rome, NY. He retired from Lockheed Martin, Syracuse, NY in 2013 where he worked since 1996 as a senior staff systems engineer and chair of the patent board. Previously, he was Co-founder, Vice President, Corporate Counsel and Principal Engineer at Adaptive Technology, Inc. in Syracuse, NY and Senior Research Engineer at Syracuse Research Corporation.  Dr. Stockmann obtained a BSEE degree in 1968 Monmouth University, W. Long Branch, NJ, Ph.D. EE degree in 1973 Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY, and JD in law in 1978 from Temple University, Philadelphia, PA. He is a member of the New York bar and the federal bars, holds 10 US patents and contributed to hundreds of technical reports, nine conference presentations and four articles in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Transactions.
